Partially colored in photo of Dr. MLK Jr. I've done to commemorate his birthday today. In his hands are 3 books. --John Kenneth Galbraith:The New Industrial State, in which he argues the United States is no longer a free-enterprise society, but a structured state controlled by the largest companies. Advertising is the means by which these companies manage demand and create consumer "need" where none previously existed. --The Confessions of Nat Turner: William Styron, which talks about a revolt led by a remarkable Negro preacher named Nat Turner, an educated slave who felt himself divinely ordained to annihilate all the white people in the region. It was led in a remote section of southeastern Virginia, there took place the only effective, sustained revolt in the annals of American Negro slavery... --and The Holy Bible: Written by Our Father. The Creator himself. Which speaks on living holy, free from sin. Which teaches us to be humble before God and righteous.
Great job, Will! That is a very good photo of MLK....and a very interesting description below. (I am interested in looking into the book by Galbraith, because our economic system is completely upside down now...) (I read the Nat Turner book many many years ago)
